  • On the scheduled date, the Marriage Registrar must see the parties as well as three witnesses. The declaration is signed by the parties and witnesses, attesting to their suitability and willingness to wed. To formally seal the marriage, they additionally make an oath.

  • Following the declaration, the marriage is officially registered by the marriage registrar, who also issues a marriage certificate that serves as proof of the union. After the solemnization, the certificate is often issued within a week.
